2005 Mustang Cam Cover - 3/11/2007

We'll got bored over the weekend so I pulled my covers off and painted them with 3 coats of high temp primer followed up with 4 coats of Ford Blue DE-1601. It's not an easy task but the results are worth it. Bay is a little dirty but will post more pix's after I clean up the bay and get my new inlet cover installed..

If you have and question please email me at mustang@bryanandrus.com

Covers before any prep work was done. I removed them myself so it can be a one man job.
See below installation documents for removal and installation of valve covers.
One note here - Do remove the battery for a faster install. This will help you out when it's time to torque the bolts down to specs.

Prep by removing grime with Gum Out then sanding surface with fine sandpaper to prep covers for primer and paint. Applied 3 coats of high temp primer followed up with 4 coats of Ford Blue DE-1601. Do some wet sanding to remove orange peel. Finished product below. Nice huh!

Under hood after covers installed. Looks OK, have to finish hosing.

Under hood right side. This was the mother of all the work done.
Trying not to scratch the paint and torque the bolts to 89in, was not an easy task. A root canal is more fun. LOL....
